Conan The Barbarian

The tale of Conan the Cimmerian and his adventures across the continent of Hyboria on a quest to avenge the murder of his father and the slaughter of his village. 

I'm not going to lie. I was quite excited when I heard that this movie will be coming out soon. I'm a huge fan of Conan the Barbarian and was really looking forward to this movie. As soon as it popped out in one of my favorite torrent sites, I had it prioritized for download almost immediately. To  my dismay it didn't live up to what I was expecting.

True enough Conan is indeed a barbarian. A brute who does nothing but slay, slay some more, eat then sleep, wake up and then slay some more. He's a brute that doesn't seem to have anything useful coming out from his mouth. From the start of the movie, well not really exactly that start but we get to see little boy Conan slaying a group of scouts from an unknown tribe that I could not be bothered to look up. He singlehandedly killed them and took their heads off as trophies. Gruesome and just plain barbaric but that's what the movie is all about right? You should definitely hide this movie from you're kids, if you have any. Does not set a good example for you're younglings to follow.

Conan, grew up barbaric as ever with one thing in his mind. Vengeance and maybe a head trophy out of that villain guy. He then set's of for a quest to kill that villain guy who killed his daddy and take what is rightfully his, which is nothing really. He is pretty much contented with revenge and that's about it. I'm quite confused as to why villain guy/person/whatever becoming what he wanted to be, could not even defeat or put Mr. Conan down to the ground and that lady villain (I'm to lazy to look them up) who seem to have a very serious condition of traction alopecia is just plain annoying.

Visually impressive and seems to be the only keeping force that would glue you into you're seat, there is just nothing else to it from this movie. The dialogue is just dull along with the acting that seems to lack even the general sense of a feeling. The storyline doens't really have any stern sense and it's actually boring.  But that's just my own opinion, You might like this movie or you might share the same view as that with mine.

Awesomeness: 7 - Fight scenes, getting see people getting dismembered, blood everywhere and just plain brutal and barbaric in all fight scenes and visually impressive effects makes this movie a standout for those people who want's nothing but eyecandy (dirty candy!) but for those people who like the occasional dive into the story, this one is a shallow pool.
