Panic Button is a movie about a group of people who supposedly won a trip of a lifetime sponsored by a social website company. Little did they know that it's all part of a plan to get them to reveal their true selves and humiliate themselves in exchanges for some of their loved ones to live. Each and every one of them has a connection somehow...something that went viral over the internet.
Let's face it, the internet aside from being a gold mine of information, is also a place where people could express themselves be it in a good or bad way. Watch the movie and tell yourself one way or the other if you have done what these people have done, though i'm not saying in a sense exactly what they did. It might not appeal to everyone, It's not the best thriller movie to date, but I believe that it did carry a more important message. I'm not telling you, it's for you to find out.
Even though it lacks the thrill zombie movies and other apocalyptic themed big screen eye candy has, Contagion nevertheless delivers what it tried to express in it's theatrical poster, "Nothing Spreads Like Fear" Which I believe is the main selling point of the movie. It is indeed a scary movie that portrays a world gone crazy because of a an airborne virus that kills in just days after contact. However, panic and fear seems to be far more dangerous than the virus itself as people struggled to survived slowly killing the bonds that holds the world's societies together.
